LINCOLN, RHODE ISLAND, March 2001 - Dave Kraai and Len Fouty, owners of A-Pac Mfg. Company, have recently purchased a new W&H VAREX blown film extrusion line with OPTIFIL P-2 auto gauge control. The line is scheduled to go into production at the beginning of August 2001; it is the first blown film extrusion system planned for the newly organized film company venture, Eagle Film Extruders, also of Walker, Michigan.
Eagle Film Extruders will produce high quality polyethylene films for the printing, laminating and bag converting markets.
The W&H blown film line will have the capability of producing tubing and sheeting up to 63 wide layflat width. It includes W&H OPTIFIL P-2 automatic die control with a capacitive thickness gauge, multiple component gravimetric control, Module ISP for integrated quality control, an oscillating haul-off and a FILMATIC K winder with face-to-face roll orientation.
Plans are underway for a new production facility in Walker, MI. The building will be constructed with future equipment in mind.
Our interest is to produce film products for the market which will be known for their higher standard of quality, yet still at competitive pricing. We plan to continue our tradition of giving outstanding lead-times and support for our customers production needs, say Len Fouty, President.
